Intercultural Worship

The aim of this course is to deepen participants understanding of both the theory and practice of intercultural worship. The course will draw specifically on the discipline of ‘Ethnodoxology’ and will enable participants to analyse, critique and apply creative and relevant models for arts and worship practice. Participants will be given practical opportunities to explore worship, arts and liturgy from a variety of cultural backgrounds and examine how local art forms can be used to shape liturgy and worship for intercultural settings.

Course Tutors
Dr Jill Ford (DWS, MA, PGCE, BA Hons) and Ian Collinge (MA, BA Hons) co-teach this course. Jill is the Arts Programme Leader at All Nations training students in the arts and global worship with a focus on liturgical diversity. Ian is the founder of WEC’S international ministry ‘Arts Release’ which trains people in music and culture with a particular focus on intercultural worship.
Those accessing Advanced Short Courses will be provided with relevant reading materials and other information to enable their full participation in the course.
ASC participants are not required to complete an assignment and will receive a certificate of participation on completion of the course.

All Nations has one of the finest mission libraries in the country with over 50,000 volumes, over 12,000 eBooks and a wide range of journals and audio visual material.
For remote access students, readings are supplied by college online and any additional reading you would like from our library catalogue may be accessed by emailing our librarian.
